Project 3.1

3.1 (a)
Relativity of color

Color Relativity check list:

1.Joseph Albers Interaction of Color discussion-  josefalbersinteractionofcolor

2.From magazines, find a color and cut it into two small squares of 1”x1”.

3. Find two different colors for the background. Cut them into 3”x3”.

4. Past your 1”x1” squares in the center of each 3”x3” squares to show how the surrounding color is effecting/changing the color in the center. You must make sure that the paper is cut perfectly and pasted neatly.

5.Please repeat these instructions three times to show change in value, change in saturation and change in hue (actual color)

3.1 (b)  Digital

It is very similar to the part a but in this one you are using two different colors surrounded by different colors to show that they look similar but in reality they will be different colors in the center. In order to show their difference, put them next to each other separately. This part of the project should be done using Graphic app.

Due date: Tuesday March 14th

Homework: Due Sunday midnight (3/12) on your blog

Color Constancy experiment

Take at least 8 pictures of the same scene in different times of the day. Note: you can take more pictures. It is best if you set up a camera/tripod/some sort of marking and take pictures from the exact same angle. One hour gap seems to work well. Anytime during the day to evening will be best. Night time will not give you much so please try to avoid it. You must begin and finish this project in ONE day.
Timeline like this one can give you a nice range of color shifts:

Please post all pictures in the correct sequence with the time on your blog by Sunday midnight.
